Hi there!
My name is Athena and I’m a young professional and self-taught artist based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I can remember and creative expression has always been important to me. I grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado in 2016 after graduating high school to attend Colorado State University, my parent’s alma mater.
I had initially applied for their Graphics Design program but ended up switching to International Studies and learning Chinese. I ended up changing my major again during the end of my 2nd year and would continue changing programs. Eventually, I graduated with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts and a minor in Anthropology in December 2020. I also completed an undergraduate Honor’s Thesis, which was a series of oil paintings I did on the subject of female characters in Western mythology.
In 2022, I was selected as a finalist by the City of Fort Collins to paint a piano in their Pianos About Town project. I’ve also worked on a few personal commissions and creative collaborations. Outside of work and art, you can find me: trying to keep my plants alive, cross-stitching, binge-watching the newest true crime documentary, dancing and singing along to music, doing yoga, or hanging out with my cat, Evie.
